Athena sponsers the radio show La Grande Équation – 2011-2012

In the spirit of being dedicated to educating its customers and business partners about the energy market, Athena Energy is proud to be a sponsor of La Grande Équation.

Hosted by Mr. N. Mousseau, this weekly radio show introduces listeners to researchers and thinkers who are passionate about science as they demystify the scientific questions underlying the main challenges of our society.

Mr. Mousseau is a physics professor at the Université de Montréal and holds the Canada Research Chair in Computational Physics of Complex Materials. He has been closely following energy related issues since 2005.

Athena Energy is proud to be associated with La Grande Équation and to help Mr. Mousseau promote scientific awareness to the general public, particularly the segments on “energy challenges”.

We encourage you to listen to the program, which is broadcasted on Thursdays at 1:30 pm and Saturdays at 4 pm on Radio Ville-Marie (http://radiovm.com, or 91.3 FM in the Montreal area), in French only. The show is also available as a podcast through its website (http://www.lagrandeequation.ca).

The fundamental elements of the natural gas market and their impact on prices - 2010

Athena Energy is dedicated to educating its customers and business partners about the energy market. On the October 7th 2010, we invited a number of guest speakers to address the realities of the global energy and challenges for Canada and Québec.

The invited speakers and Mr. Robert Bédard, President of Athena Energy, presented their insight on the natural gas market. Mr. Bédard also shared his vision of the natural gas market and elaborated on risk management principles in the extremely volatile commodity market. News about major changes in tariff rates approved by «la Régie de l’Énergie» - March 2011

Athena Energy was pleased to welcome as a guest speaker, Mrs. Marie Bourbonnais, the Senior Rate Advisor at Gaz Métro.

As part of her presentation, she shared important coming changes to current distribution rates proposed by Gaz Métro and accepted by the Régie in 2010. She also explained the reasons supporting these changes and shed some light on the impacts for customers. Changes to distribution rates came into effect on October 1st 2011, while the load balancing service changes will be effective on October 1st 2012.

Athena Energy involvment in the Kilimanjaro Challenge Expedition 2011

Athena Energy supported the mission of the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada (MS Society) by agreeing to help in the Kilimanjaro Challenge 2011. Athena supported a group of motivated people, ready to raise $12,000 each for the cause.

As part of a trip, from the 3rd to 21st of January 2011, from Montreal to Montreal, the group successfully climbed Mount Kilimanjaro. A real challenge! After a 4 day climb of the Meru, the challengers moved on to conquer the highest peak in Africa, Mount Kili, in 6 days.

Athena congratulates the group for supporting the MS Society and for their drive and perseverance to prepare and complete the Kili Challenge 2011!
